About this session

A two-hour session sharing practical and implementable strategies for supporting literacy in the classroom.

There are pupils who find aspects of literacy tricky and then there are others who really struggle.

They struggle to access the text the class is sharing.

They struggle to understand the tasks.

They struggle to know what to write and how to do it – the planning and the execution.

Do you know any children like this? Then this is the session for you. Two hours, jam-packed with strategies to support these children in the classroom.

This session provides a summary of the markers of dyslexia and a profile of a dyslexic learner with practical ideas about creating a dyslexia-friendly classroom. It also includes ideas to support reading and writing.

It's the perfect session for those wanting an effective toolkit to draw upon for supporting those who may be struggling with progress in literacy.

A bit on dyslexia friendly practice, a bit on accessing text, a chunk on writing and a wealth of ideas for you to add to your toolkit!
